Once full of life,
It gave lives to many,
Sunshine was its friend,
Who used to put happiness on its face,
And breeze its companion,
With whom it loved to dance.
Then the time changed,
Starting to change its colour,
Was the first sign of ageing,
Now the sunshine was nomore tender,
And the breeze transformed into storm.
Disgraced and battered,
It fell on the ground,
Lying there,
It was stepped by many,
But it took that chance to leave an imprint,
On their path forever.

When someone rocks your boat…

When someone rocks your boat,
And there is nothing that you can do about,
Calm your body and mind,
But stand tall and keep this in mind,
That even a storm can't touch a tree,
With roots so strong and deep caused by all those hardships on the tree.
When someone rocks your boat,
And blames for something you knew nothing about,
Calm your body and mind,
Fly high and keep this in mind,
That dark clouds can't stop an eagle,
When it's soars high in the sky,
Believing just on its wings it flies high above those clouds in the sky.
When someone rocks your boat,
All you have to do about,
Is to keep holding on to the oars,
And to believe in yourself to row your boat with those oars.

You will find the greatest human spirits,
In the hell's deepest pits,
Where people refuse to surrender to what happened to them,
And don't allow to be defined by the people around them.

There is an unrelenting human spirit in each one of us,
That helps us to fight any evil forces,
An undefeatable mind and a body in motion,
With courage, resilience, love and compassion.

A Fairy Tale

A girl who loved the light,
Sitting all alone in the night,
Had been waiting for her knight,
As she was too kind to take a fight.
When the darkness surrounded her,
She found out that the knight only wanted to be a heir,
The promise he made was just a cold word,
As he wished to fly away like a migrating bird.
A girl who loved the light,
Started to look for a new site,
Where she could be herself without a fright,

So, she travelled a long way to see the light.
She kept herself busy in her new place,
Helping others and making a living for her own space,
It occurred to her that she had to be both humble and bold,
That's when she found the light right next to her sword.
Her journey didn't stop in finding her spark,
She knew there are others who lived in the dark,
The girl who loved the light?
Tale is that she became the knight of light.

What’s Your Status?

Clearing my exams with distinction

Looking forward to get the admission

They stopped me on my way and asked me

Hey girl, what’s your status?

Finishing my college with flying colors

Preparing myself to get my dream job and put some feathers

I found people on my way who asked me

Hey girl, what’s your status?

When I thought I found a perfect match

We could live forever with love in our hearts

But again, I was surrounded by people who asked me

Hey girl, what’s your status?

Hearing those questions all along

Starting to question myself whether I’m alone

I found the answer to that question inside me

So now, when people surround to ask me

Hey girl, what’s your status?

Looking in their eyes and standing on my ground

You know what I say, this is my status.

Am I Enough?

“Am I enough?”, it’s a question that I have asked myself several times on several occasions. If I’m not wrong most of us must have felt the same at least once in our lives. It’s a feeling of not being complete or not worthy enough for someone or something. Do you think that it is natural to feel not good enough?

What is being enough? Is it being physically healthy? Or being intelligent? Or famous? Or beautiful? Does our value as a human being depends on these external qualities which others can see? Or is it anything to do with us as an individual, as a person?

As I said earlier, this question has popped up into my mind several times. When I was going to sit for an entrance exam, when I got a job, when I got promoted, when I was getting married and when I gave birth to my child, every single time I started onto something new or fresh, I had doubted myself. I knew that it was not healthy but I couldn’t help myself there.

Being enough is a state of mind. It doesn’t depends on how our body is, how intelligent we are or how important in the society are we. It’s about trusting on ourselves, to be grateful for our lives, abilities and talents, to forgive ourselves for the mistakes that we had done and to carry on. It’s not about waiting for someone to make us whole because we already are complete and that’s how God has created us. It doesn’t depends on our age, sex, physical and mental ability or disability, color, social status, caste, religion or race. I don’t deny on the fact that we are social animals but to have someone in our lives who loves and respects us should be an addition and not a substitute. To make ourselves acceptable in the society, we don’t have to punish ourselves. There is no point in the sense of belonging with others if I don’t belong to myself.

In short, I learned that it’s really essential to know our worth because we all are complete by ourselves. If we would all know our value, there will be no place for insecurity, low self-esteem, low integrity, jealousy or rivalry and the world would be a better place.

Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.

Lao Tzu

Look well into thyself; there is a source of strength which will always spring up if thou wilt always look.

Marcus Aurelius

It is difficult to make a man miserable while he feels worthy of himself and claims kindred to the great God who made him.

Abraham Lincoln

You will never gain anyone’s approval by begging for it. When you stand confident in your own worth, respect follows.
