Walking alone, Tired and fed up on herself, She felt hopeless, On her way back home, She found chaos everywhere, Not only around her, But also in her mind.
Shouting with excitement that her mama is home, Her little daughter opened the door when she rang thebell, Seeing her mama all exhausted, And offering to give a head massage with her little fingers, The daughter smiled pouring out all her love and care, And she found her little piece of heaven, On her daughter's lap. -JMJ
Sitting in my comfortable couch, Trying to get a solutionfor my boredom, I changed channels from one to another, That's when,I heard shrieking from men and women, From a land far away. Carrying there children in their hands, They are rushing to get all the help they can have, Those children have deep holloweyes, And with just skin and bones, We can count the ribs that they have got.
While the governments are busy to show off their political strength and power, Parents are selling children to satiate their hunger, They go door to door to ask if anyone needs a child, So that they can find some money to feed another child. Mothers are helpless Fathers are hopeless, Public is clueless, Governments show no remorse as if they are guiltless, And me, writing a poem on it is pointless! Unless, We satisfy those hungry eyes and stomach with love and food regardless, Of age, caste, creed, color, nationality, religion or sex. -JMJ
When the whole world stops, And there is nothing to hope, You give your smile, To convince me that all is well, Oh baby! You are strong. When my heart starts to bleed, And it gets hard for me to breathe, Then you hug me and kiss me to calm my mind, I see the resilience in your eyes, Oh baby! You are strong. When it gets hard to take another step, All I see are the walls and there is no way to escape, You take my hand to go for a walk, And show me a world beyond those walls, Oh my baby! You are strong. -JMJ
When my life turns upside down, When I feel all alone, When none of the things feel right, When everything in front of me is an upsetting sight, I see you running towards me, To wrap your arms around me, Then you give me your soothing kiss on my cheeks, Did I ever tell you this? That you are my little sunshine, You are my little sunshine... -JMJ
I saw a girl down the street, A toddler who loved a treat, With an innocent smile she wandered around, From one place to another as she didn't remember where she was found. With a plastic carry bag on her hand, She was following the big girl who was in command, Picking up the litters to buy some food, But I'm sure it was no good. I walked past her in a hurry to get my bus, Thinking that I would get another chance and no need of a fuss, Doing the same thing the whole week, Finally I found sometime for the weak. Waiting for her with a bag in my hand, I never thought that I would be so late to understand, That reaching out to others is never a waste of time, Now, all I got is a feeling of remorse that I was not there for her on time. -JMJ
Happiness is holding someone in your arms and knowing you hold the whole world.
Orhan Pamuk
I thought of drawing something today and this is what came out. I can’t believe that she is growing up so fast that I won’t be able to carry her anymore soon.
They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.
Tom Bodett
Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.
Roy T. Bennett
Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.
Dalai Lama XIV
The best way to cheer yourself is to try to cheer someone else up.
