The Egg And The Enemy

She saw herself in a castle surrounded by all the courtiers. In the mirror, which was placed right in the centre of her bedroom, she found out that she was the princess. They asked her to leave the place as it was too risky to stay there. It was a fight or flight situation and she was a fighter. She would never leave anyone behind.

Knowing her very well, one of her advisor handed her an egg. She gave him a perplexed look. What was this all about? He told her that the enemies had already reached the gate and she should protect that egg from any harm. That was her duty towards the kingdom.

So,she ran as fast as she could keeping that egg safely in one hand and holding the sword in another. While running, she developed an attachment towards that egg as if it was something which belonged to her. It gave her a purpose to live and fight with the enemies with all her courage and strength.

In that dark night, where the moon also forgot to show herself, princess ran towards the battlement to reach the tower. She tripped on something and the egg fell from her hand. She screamed out of fear and pain. While falling from the height, the egg cracked and she saw a beautiful baby. A human baby from an egg!!!

It was quarter to four in the morning. When I had woken up from the sleep all panicked and worried, I found myself all wet in my sweat after a terrible fight in the dream. Correction… Nightmare!

I still don’t understand why on the earth I was protecting an egg and why would a human baby hatch from it!! Any explanation or suggestions are welcomed.

The Swing…

I'm swinging up and down,
Not knowing what is coming along,
As I go up, I see the most beautiful sight,
And when I'm down I watch the lava flowing inside.
At one point I have the heaven,
An angel standing beside me,
Telling the truth, separating the right from the wrong,
Guiding the way, showing the perfect path for my journey.
Then, suddenly I'm in hell,
Fighting with my demons,
Burning myself in the fire,
Where temptations are crawling around me,
And every inch of my body and mind is tired of struggling with the strongest evil that I have ever known.

I'm swinging up and down,
Not knowing where I belong,
The harder I push myself to be in a place where I can hear melodious song,
To make peace with my past,
Longing for the serendipity that other people have known,
The deeper I plunge into an ocean of darkness,
Into the void where I was left alone,
Trying to get a grasp on my life, for one breath.
I'm swinging up and down,
Not knowing if I should carry on.

I’m here, I’m right here, I’m Bud.

I'm here, I'm right here,
Waiting for my time to blossom.
Will the sun caress me with it's light?
Or will the clouds sprinkle love on me with it's droplets?

I'm here, I'm right here,
Waiting to open myself to the world.
Will they accept my beauty as natural as it is?
Or will they compare me to the flower next to me?

I'm here, I'm right here,
Waiting to give my smell to the world.
Will they love me as I'm, no matter from where I belong?
Or will they try to pluck me and put me somewhere, thus losing my home?

I'm here, I'm right here,
Waiting to see the world.
Can I give happiness and hope to the world the way I'm?
Or should I be worried about my future?

Embrace to let go..

When sadness surrounds you,

Run to a place to find your solitude if you need to,

Shed your tears as much as you want,

But come back with a smiling heart.

When despair haunts you,

Don’t allow it to break you,

Seek help from someone, to whom you can talk to,

Speak up and find a purpose to live to.

When you feel like you are all alone,

No one you can trust is around,

Take a pen and a diary in your hands,

And write everything to let it out, my friends.

When you feel like you are overwhelmed,

Embrace it to understand,

That the time can heal any wound,

And prepare yourself to let go, my friend.

Blinded

Blinded by others while growing up,

All she could do what her heart measured up.

One person made her to believe that she was ugly,

So never think of to be loved dearly.

Other one came and said she was dumb,

So it’s better for her to be mum.

Another gave her a title of incompetent,

And told her that she would not get any job as has no talent.

Blinded by all the thoughts she had,

Which was never her’s but given by the people around,

Once she decided to open her eyes,

What she saw was a woman who was perfect in God’s eyes.

Now, when she looked around she found,

All those people who made her to believe the other way around,

Were the one’s who were blinded by their own belief,

That someone can be superior to others in brief.

The Panic Attack

She was a lady who knew what she wanted,

And only called nurses when she only doubted,

That she can do an activity by herself,

Or when she thought that can’t talk anymore to self.

One day, she pressed the callbell,

When the nurse saw her, she was panicking like hell,

Worried about something?” the nurse wanted to know,

Please tell me what’s the matter and don’t tell me no.”

She said, “I wasn’t afraid but I have started to fear the death”,

Reassuring her not to worry, the nurse asked, “what made you think about the death?”

“I don’t know, may be I’m just alone in this room. Can you stay here for a minute and talk to me?”,she said

“Why not”, the nurse answered.

A few days passed and she went unconscious,

Her loved ones came as she was on her way to heavens,

When she took her final breath, the same nurse was on duty,

And she saw her lying still with all her beauty.

While giving the last care all the conversations came alive,

Was it panic attack or did she know that she won’t survive?

Honesty is still the best policy….

Nowadays, we find a lot of people around us who love to twist the truth for their own benefits. They don’t mind even if it tarnishes the character of a person or hurts a person to an extent that it can cause mental imbalance. Only thing that these kind of people care, is their own safety and reputation.

Let me tell you a story about two nurses, a staff nurse and a senior nurse. One day, it was noticed during the pharmacy check that some of the drugs of a patient were missing as there was no record of it being given to the patient. It came to the notice of the ward manager that those two members of the staff were working on the day when the patient was discharged. Both of them were summoned. The staff nurse knew that it was her senior who discharged the patient but as it happened a while ago, she could not recollect what really happened. So, she told the ward manager that she really doesn’t remember. The senior staff member blamed the junior one for the incident, even though she knew that it was her mistake. The pharmacist found out later that the medicines were given to the patient but the problem was in the documentation. If only, the senior staff could have told the truth that she forgot to sign, the junior one didn’t have to go through all the tension and insult.

Who do you think that you feel like giving respect, the staff nurse or the senior nurse? Does the position or status of a person is more valuable than the virtues of another? Do you think that you will benefit more with dishonesty and lies and also that those profits are really profits? Do you think that accepting our mistakes can make us less honored?

One of the virtues that I really value is honesty and I really think that if a person can’t be honest then he or she cannot be trusted. I also think that if a person can’t own up their mistakes, then they have a weak character. To lie and to put our fault on someone else’s head is a grave mistake than the one originally committed. It not only causes problems to an innocent person but also takes the chance to correct our mistakes and to make things right. Being honest can be difficult, but in the long run that will give us the true happiness and success in the life.

If you do not tell the truth about yourself you cannot tell it about other people.

Virginia Woolf

It’s discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit.

Noël Coward

Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.

Albert Einstein

Honesty is the first chapter of the book wisdom.

Thomas Jefferson

It takes strength and courage to admit the truth.

Rick Riordan

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.

The Pretence

So how's this, this mask?
Do I look pretty? Do I look smart?
Tell me, what is my role today?
Should I just keep my eyes dry or should I also wear a smile?
All those bruises can be made unseen,
With a make up and no one will ever be keen,
To question how fake is the smile,
Or am I living a lie?

An abuser lives in all of us,
Some find happiness in other's tears,
Beating up, mocking up and blocking everything what is dear,
Others like to turn a blind eye making me to wish that the death is near,
Never reach out but love to give a long sigh,
All I want is someone to sit beside,
No need to talk, just hold my hands tight,
It's another day as I can see the light,
I should be ready for the people outside,
So tell me, how's this, this mask?
Do I look pretty? Do I look smart?

The Touch

The year of 2020 and 2021 made us to realize the importance of touch with several other things which we took as for granted. Human touch is so essential in our lives and we learned that in a hard way. When we had the freedom to go out and to have a life with our family and friends, most of us were living a life in front of our phones, laptops or television. We ignored that there were people around us whose life can be changed by a touch of us and above all, we never thought that we needed them too.

I’m not a touch or hug person. But I started to crave for my daughter’s hugs and kisses when I had to stay away from her. It made me realize how important it was for me and how sad I can be if I’m deprived of it. I still remember the days, when I used to come back from work and there was no way I could go nearer to her. My daughter with all her innocence, once, came behind me and touched my clothes. She just wanted to feel her mother and I did cry a lot on that day because I felt helpless as a mother.

There are so many scientific evidences on the advantages of a touch.

First of all, when we touch a person, oxytocin is released which is known as ‘the feel good hormone’ in our body. Thus, it helps in building positive thoughts and optimism and thereby creating trust in social situations.

Touch helps in reducing anxiety and stress. It increases the levels of Dopamine and Serotonin which helps to regulate our mood and thereby decreasing the negative emotions.

Touch is also known to increase the efficiency of our immune system and also in lowering the blood pressure. It helps in reducing the diseases related to heart and blood.

In my language there is a saying that only when we lose our eyesight we know the importance of eyes. It’s only when I was not allowed to hug my daughter due to the coronavirus, I knew how much it was important to me. How relaxing and calming her hugs are!

Touch has a memory.

John Keats

We are not people who touch each other carelessly; every point of contact between us feels important, a rush of energy and relief.

Veronica Roth

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a
listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all
of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Leo F. Buscaglia

You will live in the future as an extension of the lives that you have touched. Therefore, you may wish to consider how you’re touching people.

Craig D. Lounsbrough

There’s power in the touch of another person’s hand….Hands that wrap us in warmth, that hold us close. Hands that guide us to shelter, to comfort, to food. Hands that hold and touch and reassure us through our very first crisis, and guide us into our very first shelter from pain. The first thing we ever learn is that the touch of someone’s hand can ease pain and make things better.
That’s power. That’s power so fundamental that most people never even realize it exists.
