Every Fall Is A Chance To Rise…

Sometimes we feel like we are in a deep pit from where there is no escape. A feeling of losing the ground under our feet. All the negative emotions build up such as frustration, disappointment, sorrow, anger and helplessness which not only affects mentally but also physically. I believe that everyone of us has to go through that circumstances at least once in their lifetime and some may have to suffer more than once.

“Every fall is a chance to rise” – its something that I believe in. What defines us is not how many times we fall, but how we rise after each time we fall. We only get to know ourselves more, when we fail. It helps in introspection and self reflection which is essential for our emotional, mental and spiritual growth. It helps us to develop the virtues of life such as forbearance, humility, gratitude, courage, compassion, love and kindness. Failure teaches us that it is not the end of the road and makes us to change our approach toward the problems. The more you face the problems, the more you realize how strong you are. But all this is only possible, if we take every defeat as a lesson to learn to make ourselves a better person.

There are so many ways to overcome failures. Accepting our emotions towards the situation is the first step. The pain which is caused by the failures are immense and to reduce it we may start habits like drinking alcohol, using drugs or eating foods in an unhealthy way. It’s essential to recognize and avoid them and to start practicing healthy coping skills such as jogging, reading, listening to music and meditation. Reading about the famous failures can inspire us. J K Rowling, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison and Walt Disney are just a few among them. To take a different approach to solve the problems can be the next one. A change in the perception towards the failures may itself can have a huge impact on us. Last but not the least, it’s really important to have self confidence. We must believe in ourselves and also in the qualities and talents which the God has given us. Believe that we can always rise from the ashes.

Some of the quotes which helped me to get through the rough times are:

I can be changed to what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.

Maya Angelou

I no longer feared the darkness once I knew the phoenix in me would rise from the ashes.

William. C. Hannan

Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.

Kahlil Gibran

Suffering can lead to transformation. And redemption. And marvelous mystery.

Dr. Allen Hunt

What matters most is how well you walk through the fire.

Charles Bukowski

Sometimes the worst thing that happens to you, the thing that you think you can’t survive… it’s the thing that makes you better than you used to be.

Jennifer Weiner

So, believe in yourself and the Almighty and keep going on. In the end, you will find that you have become the most beautiful person you ever wanted to be.

Please keep me posted about your opinions on the topic. I really love them to read.

  1. It’s so true! The post was very motivating. It reminded me that most of the great people out there who have succeded, have failed before. So there no point in being disheartened by failure. Let’s pick ourselves up and try again.

  2. You’re absolutely right when you say that “Every Fall is a Chance to Rise”, but it cam also depend on what you consider a failure. Some of the most respected authors, poets and artists had failures in many people’s eyes.

This is a lovely post. I’m glad I came across it 🙂
